I’ve been enjoying photographing birds in good weather on my lunch time walks – this Ruby-crowned Kinglet (Regulus calendula) was very cooperative and I managed to get a few good photographs of it. The “ruby crown” is usually only visible when the bird is agitated!
Spent some time in the garden photographing several Golden-haired Dung Flies (Scathophaga stercoraria) that were attracted to the fresh seaweed we added to improve the soil. Despite their less than desirable habits, they made for beautiful subjects.
